Defense Department officials announced the deadline to apply for retroactive stop-loss special pay has been extended, for the third time, to March 4, 2011. The previous deadline was Dec. 18, 2010 for eligible active-duty, veterans and beneficiaries.
RSLSP was established to compensate military members whose service was involuntarily extended under Stop Loss between Sept. 11, 2001, and Sept. 30, 2009. Eligible members or their beneficiaries are required to submit a claim to their respective military service in order to receive the benefit of $500 for each full or partial month served in a Stop Loss status. The original deadline for claims was Oct. 1, 2010.
Eligible servicemembers, veterans and family members cannot afford to miss out on this opportunity to get the compensation they’ve earned. If someone you know may be eligible please encourage them to apply as soon as possible. It is estamated that approximately 145,000 service members, veterans and beneficiaries are eligible.
To apply, or to find more information on RSLSP, including submission requirements and service-specific links, visit http://www.defense.gov/stoploss.

can anyone tell me how to get a statement for the stop loss payment…i'm applying for a mortgage and the lender needs me to prove i didn't take a loan out?
I believe I'd find a different lender since all he/she has to do is run a credit check on your SSAN and then he/she can see for himself all debt you may owe. Good luck if you stay with him.
Your DD214 will list Stop Loss days. Note: Only stop-losses dating from Sept. 11, 2001 through Sept. 30, 2009 will be considered. Those of us extended beyond that date will have to wait to see if we get reimbursed for any additional Stop-Loss dates.
Just my $0.02. Hope it helps.
no one has call are sent me a email about my pay. i have tried to call there number and the box is full so if anyone out there can tell me what to do are who to call please let me know. i sent it out in July it Nov now……
Rico, What branch were you in? That determines who you contact.
How long does it take to receive Stop Loss pay?
To answer Rico's question if he is talking about retirement pay for the Army Reserve; The phone line at St Louis was not disconnected when the Retirement Department moved to Fort Knox Ky. That message phone box has been full since August. Why they don't close it down or give the Fort Knox number in the message is beyond me…..Just call the main switchboard in St Louis and ask for the Fort Knox Army Retirement phone number….they will give it to you.

To be eligible for Retroactive Stop Loss Pay youmust have:
1) Been involuntarily retained on active duty due to Stop Loss
2) Served on or after 11 September 2001.
Since you left the Navy on 21 January 2001, you are definitely not eligible.
I am happy to see that the DOD is taking care of you folks with the Stop Loss Pay. My soldiers back in the day of the 1st Gulf War just had to suck it up and soldier on. Good luck Warriors.
Off yer meds again, Jon?

In case people are still looking for the web link for the Stop Loss Criteria and such, hopefully this site allows URLs to post: http://www.vetcenter.va.gov/Retroactive_Stop_Loss…
how do I collect salary owed me by the air force from 1974
You get all your ducks in line, gather your supporting documentation in chronological order, and visit your local congressman's office, present your case so they understand basically how this all happened, then leave it up to the congressional military liaison office who looks into these cases. They will resolve it. Your congressman will be your interface. They will inquire in your stead. If you were unjustly not paid, they will do whatever public law allows for in cases like yours. I have seen records of pay corrected going back quite a few years. Don't give up. If you don't become the squeaky wheel, you will not get oiled. So press on, and if you persevere, I trust you will at least get a response that applies directly to your case. OK! Go for it!.
June, Suggest you get ALL your documentation, in support of your claim ORGANIZED, sequentially, etc., as you will present it, and make an appointment to see your congressman/woman or senators — Usually in Federal Building, in most cities. Look under Government pages. You will possibly get 10-15 minutes to make your case to elected official or an assistant. Be organized, clear and concise, in your presentation. Bring a minimum of one extra copy of your case/documentation to present to Congress person AND/or office manager upon arriving. Notorizing it is a good idea. James T. COOPER, Major, Infantry, USA Retired.
Sooner or later people are going to wake up and realize they need to put a letter in the mail with all required application and documentation materials to the required Department of Defense address to request their pay or hire a lawyer if they don't get it. Go look for more information at http://www.defenselink.gov/ or http://www.dod.gov/ and stop asking questions.

What do you you do when every one has an excuse witch is zero meters to find out about money your owed and awards before this whole deployment mess started. No one knows nothing until you go public then its an imbarrassing to say I served and I was there when you needed me but where was my money when I need you. And I worked for it I not asking for a hand out be carefull who you overlook. You might have too work for me one day just like I worked for you see if you like it. Soldier Of Fortune R.W.
Nobody callme back to notify if I qualify for this benefit.I Submit this request on 2010.
So i applied and met the very first deadline that they had by at least a week. I had all my supporting documentation for all 8 months that I was on Stop Loss for OIF 2005 -2006. I sat waiting patiently for about 3 months then I get a letter in the mail.
Said:
You are not eligable for Stop Loss Retroactive pay because you recieved a bonus for re-enlisting. What the hell is that?! It said no where the durring any part of the process that because I re-enlisted and got a bonus from it that I would not be able to get Stop Loss pay.
I was still stuck over there for 8 months on Stop Loss before I finally decided to re-enlist just before we left. Why shold I get penalized for decideing to stay in the millitary? Unfortunete. Just to let you all know what happended to me and I am sure many others.
