A < recent report posted on Military.com points out than more than half of our veterans have little or no understanding of the benefits due < them, despite efforts < over recent years to match returning < soldiers with the help and services they need. As expected, veterans who have served in our current conflicts are more aware of their benefits than previous generations. This is likely < due to the VA's efforts to promote programs like the Post-9/11 GI Bill and the VOW Act. However, 40 percent of the post-9/11 vets say they have little or no understanding of their benefits. <   The new requirement for all separating servicemembers to attend Transition GPS is designed to help raise awareness and help veterans take advantage of their benefits.
