Colorado State University's dedication to veterans goes well beyond the call of duty and shames Veteran programs offered by nearly all other colleges and universities. CSU offers those who serve our country a full ride regardless of residency.
Unlike most schools that do not provide 100 percent tuition coverage for non-resident Veteran students, CSU pays 100 percent of resident and nonresident undergraduate tuition, all university fees, a $4,300 housing allowance each semester and $1,000 a year toward books. [NOTE: CSU’s offer only covers undergraduate tuition rates.]
CSU’s history of service to veterans has resulted in a 10 percent growth in veteran enrollment each semester.
CSU's offer announced their Veteran tuition offer within weeks of releasing their 2011-12 20 percent tuition rate increases for other students. However school officials don’t expect that students will begrudge veterans their tuition-free education.
Similar to the Post-9/11 GI Bill, to be eligible for Colorado State University's free-tuition program, Veterans must have served at least 36 months of active duty after Sept. 10, 2001, or honorably discharged due to a service-connected disability with at least 30 days' service. Eligibility is also extended to GI Bill eligible dependents.
